HPEDs Workshop on "Hiring Right"

Join Us

Wednesday December 14th at the Haverford Township Free Library from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm.

According to the featured speaker, Anne Weisbord, president of Career Services Unlimited, hiring the wrong person can cost you more time than you think and for a business person, time is money. Anne says, “In fact, research tells us that the average wrong hire costs an organization about 2.5 times the annual salary of the employee … if you add up the time spent sourcing potential candidates, analyzing resumes, interviewing, checking references, training and orienting, the costs can be enormous.” In this workshop you will learn how to conduct an effective employment selection interview so you can be objective and confident in your hiring decisions. You will learn to:

• Identify the qualities and skills needed for success in the open position.

• Construct and practice asking traditional and behavioral interview questions.

• Learn which questions you cannot ask.

• Structure the interview appropriately.

There will be a panel discussion for the last half hour with local business owners: (Brendan Goggin of Oakmont Pub, Graham Wagner of Wagner Real Estate and Jim Identify the qualities and skills needed for success in the open position.
